HAIRDRESSING SCISSORS HISTORY
Historicaly, hairdressing scissors are a hand operated cutting instrument. Hairdressing scissors consisting of a pair of connected metal blades that cut hair when the handles are forced to gether in a 'cutting action'. Over the years, mass manufacturing has enabled the hairdressing scissor industry to develop a range of cutting scissors, based on different designs, different blade length and blade formation. During the Middle Ages spring scissors were manufactured by heating a bar of iron or steel, then flattening and shaping its ends into blades on an anvil. The center of the bar was heated, bent to form the spring, then cooled and reheated to make it flexible. Modern day pivoted scissors were not manufactured until 1761.
